Site Level Time Downscaling
These case studies are intended to demonstrate the performance of COMDAST at downscaling various meteorological variables, including difficult-to-handle ones such as precipitation and shortwave radiation. Case study examples are given for both temporal downscaling and spatial downscaling. Coarse monthly means from 3 different general circulation models are downscaled (CCSM3, CCSM4, and MPI). Variables on the right side bar link to examples of downscaled data from coarse (1,2 & 3-degree) monthly means to 6-hourly half-degree output. CRU-NCEP obtained from Nicolas Viovy was used to train our machine learning algorithm.
